Hand Made Hammered Sterling Silver Hoops on Sterling Ear Wires with Buff, Ecru or Beige Keishi Pearls
These sterling hoops (15mm) are hand hammered and polished and dangle from hammered soldered rings and have sterling ear wires. The Keishi Pearls are large but weightless and measure approximately 16mm x 10mm and come in various shapes that resemble flakes. Keishi Pearls are Natual Pearls and result from the pearl harvesting industry. They are a byproduct of pearl-making, being formed by the mollusk, sometimes in addition to a nucleated (an implanted bead) pearl, and sometimes in place of one.
The glorious range of color and luster in Keishi Pearls is due to the fact that they are 100% nacre-the glowing substance emitted by the mollusk which coats a pearl. Their range of colors is subtle, but there is nothing subtle about their cold shape and their irregular edges give much more surface area to catch and reflect light. For this reason, and the fact that Keishi Pearls look so unique and modern, they are my favorite pearls to work with. And these super-light earrings have plenty of movement to show them off.
Please note that both the shape and color of Keishi pearls cover a range of colors and shapes, all very similar but with very slight variations. I have matched them as well as natural pearls can be matched, but each pair is individual and one-of a kind like its wearer.
